According to a report by Reuters, Takeda Pharmaceutical announced that it has received U.S. approval for its 62 billion dollar acquisition of London-listed Shire, bringing the Japanese firm closer to its goal of becoming one of the world's top 10 drugmakers. In a press release, Takeda said that the United States Federal Commission had granted the company unconditional clearance.
