NASA's InSight probe is scheduled to touch down on Mars today, but it's easier said than done. According to Business Insider, only 40% of Mars landings have been successful. Because Mars' atmosphere is 100 times thinner than Earth's, it's extremely difficult to land on the red planet. Only three space agencies have ever tried to land on Mars and none of them have a perfect track record.
