Facebook has been busy cleaning up their platform during the first quarter of 2018. According to the social media company, 583 million fake accounts were disabled during the first three months of the year. But the effort of transparency had a negative impact on their stock. Facebook shares slipped by 2-percent on May 15th following the announcement. According to a filings report, the number of fake accounts among their monthly active users are on the rise.
