Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains when, why and which cookies and similar Tracking Technologies (as defined below) are used by us, Truvid Inc. (collectively, “Truvid”, “we”, “us” or “our”), on this website (Truvid.com), the Truvid SaaS platform and the Truvid player Truvid, as well as on ours or our partners' websites, applications, advertisements and related services (together, the “Service(s)”).

When you visit or access our Services, we use (and authorize third parties to use) cookies, pixels, beacons, local storage and similar technologies ("Tracking Technologies"). These allow us to automatically collect information about you, your device, and your online behavior, in order to enhance your navigation in our Services, improve our Service's performance, perform analytics, customize your experience and offer you, for example, tailored content and advertisements that better correspond with your interests.

This Cookie Policy is integrated into and forms part of Truvid's Privacy Policy which is currently available here.

1. What are Cookies and Tracking Technologies?

Cookies and Tracking Technologies are widely used in order to make websites work in an efficient way. The use of cookies allows you to navigate between pages efficiently. Cookies remember your preferences and make the interaction between you and the Services smoother and more efficient. Cookies are also used to help ensure that the advertisements you see online are relevant to you and your interests.

Cookies are small text files (composed only of letters and numbers) that a web server places on your computer or mobile device when you visit a webpage. When used, the cookie can help make our Services more user-friendly, for example by remembering your language preferences and settings.

2. Storing Tracking Technologies

We store Tracking Technologies when you visit or access our Services (for example when you are visiting our website) – these are called " First Party Tracking Technologies ". In addition, Tracking Technologies are stored by other third parties (for example our analytics service providers, business partners and advertisers) who run content on our Services – these are called " Third Party Tracking Technologies ".

Both types of Tracking Technologies may be stored either for the duration of your visit on our Services or for repeat visits.

The most common types of cookies you may encounter are “persistent” and “session” cookies: a persistent cookie has an expiry date afterwards it will no longer be valid (until then, it will be stored by the browser, locally). On the other hand, a session cookie, will lose its validation once browser is closed. Our persistent cookies will expire between 30 minutes and 30 days from the date they are downloaded to your device. Truvid does not generate cookies with personal details that identifies a user. We do, however uses cookies to improve your web experience while surfing our site. Cookies stored while surfing our platform are not shared or made available for processing by any external source and it is used with the end goal of improving our serving.

We use the following categories of Tracking Technologies, and those Tracking Technologies may be stored on your computer when you visit or access our Services:

  • Strictly Necessary Tracking Technologies - these Tracking Technologies are automatically placed on your computer or device when you access our Services or take certain actions on our Apps or Websites. For example, our content player cookies used for the duration of a session to store technical data needed to play back video or audio content; our security cookies detect authentication abuses; some cookies are used to identify the same server in the pool for the load balancer to redirect user requests appropriately; some cookies are used to store your preferences in relation to the use of cookies more generally. These Tracking Technologies are essential to enable you to navigate around and use the features of our Services. We do not need to obtain your consent in order to use these Tracking Technologies;
  • Performance Tracking Technologies – these Tracking Technologies collect information about your online activity (for example the duration of your visit on our Services), including behavioral data and content engagement metrics. These Tracking Technologies are used for analytics, research and to perform statistics (based on aggregated information), to help improve your browsing experience and our services;
  • Marketing and Advertising Tracking Technologies – these Tracking Technologies collect information about your browsing in order to make advertising more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. The Tracking Technologies remember the websites you visit and that information is shared with other parties such as advertisers and/or publishers. Although these cookies can track your device’s visits to sites, they typically cannot personally identify you.  Publishers, advertisers, and third-party ad networks (for example, social media network) may also utilize Tracking Technologies or similar technologies to deliver ads and monitor the performance of such ads. The collection of information through Tracking Technologies by such third parties will be governed by their own privacy policies/cookies policies and principles, which the Company does not control;
  • Functionality Tracking Technologies – these Tracking Technologies allow our Services to remember choices you make (such as your language) and provide enhanced and personalized features.
